Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble Gobble!!! Happy Turkey Day and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone filled their tummies with lots of yummy filling foods.  I had a little extra time after having dinner and checking out the wonderful sale at Michaels crafts.  Here's my newest fun card to make.  I "borrowed" the idea from a youtube video i saw so I can't say its completely my idea.

Here is the Triple Time Stamping Card.

It is a really simple way to make a really gorgeous card.
I used my handy dandy cricut machine and cut 6 pieces of paper. You are also welcome to cut it with your paper cutter as well.
For the Smiles card on top you need the following:
Cut 3 sizes of white cardstock:  2.25x3.25"; 3.25x4.50"; 4.25x5.50"
Cut 3 sizes of a patterned paper: 2.50x3.75"; 3.50x4.75"; 9x5.75"

I then layered the white cardstock one on top of the other, using temp tape (or any temp adhesive to hold the panels in place). Then i stamped using my Penny Black stamps (first i did the greeting in 2 shades to create a nice shadow then i used the leaves in a light green to add a little background. Then I stamped with embossing ink and used WOW Tea Garden Green powder for the big flowers)  (see photo below).  I started in the middle and made sure the next ones surrounded it even going off the page.  Once it was all embossed, I took the 3 layers apart and used it with the patterned cardstock. Alternating between the white cardstock and the patterned.  I used some Distressed Ink - Shabby Shutters to add a nice little shadow to stamped white cardstock.

On the card below I cut the same sizes except instead of cutting the larger 9x5.75" piece I cut a half piece 4.50x5.75".  And then used in my layering a 5x6.5" precut card as the uppermost stamped layer.
I have a lot of fun with these cards and using the same dimensions you can make smaller cards or larger ones.  Happy Crafting Everyone!

Happy Halloween

Its a little late but here's a card I made for my cousin.  I've wanted to do a manly/masculine card, that a guy wouldn't be embarrased to get.

I used Tim Holtz vintage tissue tape, Embossed cardstock that i sanded & used distressed ink and pearlized mist.   Then i cut out welded Happy Halloween using Life is a Beach Cricut Cartridge.  I attached with dimensional tape.

Catching Up

Hi Everyone!

Its been a crazy 4 months.   So I wanted to catch everyone up on what's been going on.  On July 4th at 2:15 p.m., We welcomed our little firecrackers to our family.  Nikolas Kenji  was a born a healthy 7 lbs 3oz.  He's been keeping me super busy.

I also welcomed the opportunity to be part of the Design Team for TheCraftsCorner.com (www.thecraftscorner.com) .  I'm very excited to be included in the companys new endeavors.  :)  They have been getting some fabulous new stuff and I can't wait to "play" with it.

I've been crafting and cardmaking in between changing diapers, feedings and burpings and enjoying every new milestone little Nik has had.  But I think i need to really get my butt in gear and post some stuff.

And here's a pic of my two guys.  Love my boys.   (Jakob 4 1/2 years & Nik 1 month)

Have an awesome day & Happy Crafting.

Dad's Surprise Birthday Party Invite

For my Dad's Surprise 70th Birthday Party I made the invitiations.  I used in asian motif being that we were going to a Japanese Buffet and we are Japanese. :)

I had recently found the Cricut Pagoda Cartrige.  And used the whole think to make my the invite.

I purchased a package of Blank Cards from Michaels.   Then cut out rectangles using my handy dandy Cricut machine.   Then I used Vellum paper that I had pre-printed and embossed with disco black powder (please embosses as far away from the paper as you can because Vellum will burn/get distorted) with the Party information, to create a "rice paper" screen in the window I had cut out.

I then cut a 4" pagoda & a 3 1/2" bonsai to put behind the window.   I then cut the "Celebrate" Kanji characters in 1-1/2" with shadow and a 2" dragon to accent.   I then embossed the Kanji character with clear embossing powder (to give it a shiny look) and then added dimensional glue and red ruby glitter to accent the dragon.

Health Invite

7" Rectangle from Plantin Cartridge in Dark blue cardstock.  Then 5" Kanji word (on shift) for Health Card in light blue cardstock.  I then printed out the invite message on card.   I did try to emboss the invite but the ink dried too quickly to emboss.  I then used double sided tape behind the health word and sprinkled with bright blue extra fine glitter.   Then I adhered the the health card on top of the dark cardstock using 1st rubber cement (please ensure that the rubber cement has dried completely before proceeding.  Don't forget to remove the double sided tape on the backing.

Then i cut a 2" bonsai to accent the top of the card.  To add a little shine you can either glitter your bonsai or use pearlized paint.
